Russia since January 1, 2015 will reduce gas price for Turkey by 6%
Russia since January 1, 2015 will lower gas price for consumers in Turkey for 6%, the Russian President V. Putin reported 1 december 2014 in to Ankara.
"We at the request of the Turkish partners - and meaning expansion of cooperation in the oil and gas sphere, - since January 1, 2015 we will lower the prices of natural gas for the Turkish consumers for 6%, and we will be ready to reduce these prices further in process of implementation of our joint large projects", - he told.
We will remind that Turkey declared interest in increase in supply of gas on MGP Blue Stream on 3 bcm. As T. Yyldyz declared on November 26, 2014, Turkey is ready to increase purchases of gas from Russia immediately. But thus Turkey asked for Russia a discount for gas under the current contract. The corresponding inquiry was already sent to the Russian side.
The Russian President V. Putin declared on November 28, 2014 that the question of the price of additional volumes of gas for Turkey demands careful study. And on December 1, 2014 at a press conference with R. Erdogan V. Putin reported South Stream about a MGP project suspension. Russia leaves the project because of counteraction of the European Union and a position of Bulgaria which still didn't agree to construction of MGP in the territory. And without it to start construction of sea part of South Stream besmysslenno.
Instead V. Putin declared that the decision to develop MGP Blue Stream is made, and considering the increasing needs of Turkey for gas still the decision on construction of additional MGP to border of Turkey with Greece is made.
A. Miller reported that volumes of transportation of gas on this MGP will be comparable to South Stream and will make about 63 billion m3/year of gas from which 14 billion m3/year of gas will be realized in Turkey, and other part is intended for unnamed consumers in Europe.
Also I added that return to South Stream won't be, the project is closed.
